Transfiguration School

SCHOOL IS CLOSED MONDAY, MAY 14TH
***IMPORTANT NOTICE***

As you know, the Lower Hudson Council of School Superintendents has published a position paper recommending the state funding of private school, out-of-district transportation, or a reduction of mileage limits from 15 to 5 miles.
If this proposal becomes a reality, the state of New York will once again be unfairly targeting those parents who are merely attempting to provide their children with expanded opportunities and a great education.
A Citizen's Advisory Council chaired by Yorktown Assemblyman Terrence Murphy
and Father Vaillancourt has been formed to protect transportation to private and parochial students.  This Advisory Council will convene at John f. Kennedy Catholic High School on Monday, April 16th at 7p.m. in the Auditorium to discuss lobbying efforts and talking points for a trip to Albany.  That trip will take place on Wednesday, April 18th at which time members of the Council will meet with Sens. Little and Martins of the Mandate Relief Council.

Information will be posted and disseminated as it becomes available.  To join the Citizen's Advisory Council, please e-mail Sen. Greg Ball's Director of Legislative Affairs Krista Gobins with your name and contact information at
kgobins@nysenate.gov .

The belief that academic excellence in an environment of faith produces competent, caring Christians, continues to be fundamental to our success. Transfiguration School provides students with a structured religious and academic education program stressing the tenets of our Catholic faith—service to others; value of worship; and the ability to make responsible, Christian decisions based on moral values.

In our pursuit of excellence, Transfiguration School offers a student-centered learning institution that provides a challenging academic environment within a caring and nurturing atmosphere, recognizing and respecting the individual differences of each student.  Our strong tradition of parent involvement has created a school community where members model service and forge enduring friendships.

Situated in historic Tarrytown, and accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges and the New York State Department of Education, Transfiguration attracts a diverse group of students from across the lower Hudson Valley.
